About GlobeSleuth
A geography-meets-history guessing game for the curious mind.
What is GlobeSleuth?
GlobeSleuth challenges you to identify the country of origin of famous (and sometimes obscure) personalities from throughout history β using today's modern borders. From ancient philosophers to 20th-century revolutionaries, the question is always: where on today's map did they come from?
You get 5 guesses per personality. Each wrong guess reveals a progressively more specific clue. Click a country on the interactive 3D globe or type it in the autocomplete box. Score points based on how few guesses you needed β and build a streak!

Design Philosophy
- πΊοΈModern borders rule: Even ancient figures are mapped to today's geopolitical boundaries. Where Cleopatra lived is now Egypt; where Rumi was born is now Afghanistan.
- π‘Progressive hints: Clues go from vague (era, domain) to specific (city of birth). A true expert shouldn't need more than 1β2.
- πGlobe-first UI: The clickable 3D globe isn't just decoration β it's the main input method. Geography should feel spatial.
- πDepth over breadth: Each personality includes a fun fact revealed at round end β the game is a learning experience, not just a quiz.
